A long shot of the main characters is used here to establish
the new setting they have entered. Medium close ups are also used to establish
new characters in the shot.
A medium shot is used here to show the action that is taking
place. The editing used between the scenes are generally cuts which shows the
fast pace and building of tension.
This clip is near the end of the first fifteen minutes of
the film. In this scene we are hearing an emergency radio call to the fire
fighters, but are unable to hear what exactly is being said. This builds
suspense for the viewers and gives a sense of excitement and fear. We are using a similar technique to this in our film as we are doing an emergency TV broadcast to announce what is happening.Sound is used in this clip to create tension and it also gets the viewer’s heart racing. The sound we hear is a rumbling noise which could suggest the start of the horror throughout this movie.
Cinematography is used widely throughout this shot as the
police and fire fighters have just discovered the source of the rumbling. Here
we see a close up of the back of two people’s heads but a medium shot of an
elderly woman. I believe this shot shows authority as the close ups are of
police men. The camera is also shaking throughout the shot creating a slight
un-nerving feeling.
